Housing in the Urbanna area is a charming mix of landmark colonial
mansions, clapboard cottages, imposing Victorians with fanciful
fretwork, bungalows, ranchers, condos, duplexes, town houses
and custom contemporaries. There are a few building lots left
in town, too.
Urbanna is about .5 square mile in size and .1 square mile of that is water.
Because demand for housing within the town limits far exceeds supply, a number
of subdivisions have been established just outside of town. |
Rosegill, a major new neo-traditional community, located
in historic Middlesex County on the Rappahannock River is expected
to break ground in 2008. It will feature multiple housing types
and community amenities, all set among its approximately 850
acres of farmland and frontage on Urbanna Creek and the Rappahannock
River.
Urbanna Harbour is small subdivision of custom homes across the creek from Urbanna.
The community has its own pool and bath house and property owners each have their
own deep water boat slip on Urbanna Creek.
Garnett Hill and Laurel Hill are established communities of gracious, traditional
homes on shady, wooded lots on the hill behind the Fire House. Urbanna town water
and sewer service is available to homes in these subdivisions. |
Kilmer’s Point and Cedar Point are waterfront communities fronting
on Robinson Creek, Lagrange Creek and the Rapphannock River.
There are no apartment complexes in Urbanna, but there are single family homes,
condos, duplexes and flats-over-the-store for rent from time to time.
For information about homes for sale or rent, consult a local
real estate agent or the Southside
Sentinel classifieds. |
